About the Casa
You will enjoy the resort feeling with your own private amenities. The property was custom built and completed in Dec 2015 and fully renovated in Oct 2023. No details were left out. In addition, we provide a private concierge that can arrange for anything you may need before your arrival or during your stay. Anything from a private chef, surfing lessons, yoga instructors, activities, transportation or dinner reservations at one of the many fine restaurants within walking distance of our property.
Our property boasts the largest salt water pool on the beach with a custom swim up pool bar. The layout consists of 4 buildings that make up 8 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms and can accommodate parties up to 20. There are 4 master suites, two Double queen suites, a Queen bedroom which shares a bath with a kids room with a bunk/trundle bed. The main house has a custom kitchen with upgraded stainless appliances, quartz counters and custom built cabinets. All bathrooms have stone and tile showers and custom poured concrete vanity/sinks. We laid out the landscaping to maintain the Costa Rican feel and there are tropical views from any of the several outdoor patio lounging areas. 3 soothing fountains finish the landscaping to make you feel relaxed and at home regardless of where on the property you are sitting. The outdoor structures include a two story 2000 sf open air Rancho. The main floor is full amenity livable. A complete custom kitchen, dining seating for 20 and a living room area. The second floor is perfect for Yoga classes or parties. We also designed a separate structure for meditation or private massages. There are two strategically placed outdoor showers. One in the front of the property for rinsing off the beach sand and the second in the pool area for before or after a dip as well as an outdoor bathroom for use by swimmers.
If there is something we left out, please tell us and we will either provide it during your stay or do everything we can to have it addressed for your next stay. If you stay with us once, you will become a repeat client.
Location
Our property is located in the desired "K" section of Playa Guiones. This is the closest section to beach access. We are as close to the beach as the local government will allow you to build. We are a 4 minute walk to one of the best surfing beaches in the world and a 5 minute walk to the Bohdi Tree Yoga Institute which draws Yogis world wide. There are several restaurants within a 3-5 minute walk and a 5 minute walk from town for everything from your grocery needs to boutique shopping. If you rent a golf cart or a quad, you can access anything you need within a 10 minute ride. Whether you are coming for the surf, the yoga, the sites, or just to get away from the day to day, Casa De Alces/Playa Guiones/Nosara is a perfect destination. The Nicoya Peninsula is one of the world's seven Blue Zones and you'll quickly understand why. A little secret part of the world that everyone should experience. If you do, you will be back. Private Pool
Our pool is the center piece of the property. We designed the pool and then everything else was built to flow around it. We have the largest salt water pool in Guioness. The pool has a built in swim up tiki bar with six private stools. If you want, we can arrange for a private bartender to mix some local favorites. We added stairs at either end of the pool for access and we also added two sitting benches in the pool to sit half in or to keep your feet cool. Each of the 5 private casitas as well as the main house have pool views and 4 of them have a private patio with a chaise lounge. There are four other chaise lounge chairs poolside for relaxing in the sun. The enormous Rancho is perfect for those guests who want to be part of the activities, but taking a break from the pool, and sun. You and your friends will be telling everyone back home about our pool and outdoor space.
Dining | Kitchen
There are two full custom kitchens on the property. Both were renovated in Oct 2023. The outdoor rancho has a full gas range cooktop, a full size refrigerator and a dishwasher. All appliances are stainless steel. There is seating for up to 20 plus two lounge areas for overflow. The main house also has a full custom kitchen with a gas range with cooktop and oven, a microwave oven, a large refrigerator and dishwasher. All appliances are stainless steel. Both kitchens have quartz counters with undermount sinks and custom faucet fixtures. Our concierge can arrange for a private chef if you desire unless someone in your group feels up for the challenge. Chefs welcome!
Rooms and Accommodations
Our property consists of 8 bedrooms and can sleep up to 20 guests. We have two King Master Suites and two Queen Master Suites. There are two double queen casitas, a single queen bedroom and a kids room with a queen bunk bed with a pull out trundle. Two bedrooms share a bathroom and all other bedrooms have their own private bath. All furniture was custom built to fit each room and each bathroom was custom designed with polished concrete vanities and tile showers with pebble stone floors. A true resort feel.

We constructed the property with the concept of hosting retreats and we host several every year. We specifically designed the yoga platform for the amazing setting in the jungle canopy where you can feel the breeze and smell the ocean. Disconnect from stress and distractions of home. Also remember, during your retreat, we can help rejuvenate with healthy local cuisine from a local chef. So many ways to relax following the session either poolside, massages on the property or just sit in one of the many patios around the property to take in nature. What a better way to build community.

For our retreat leaders and guests, we provide a full set of props. While you can bring your own if you like, we make it easy with 12 full sets including a mat, bolster, block, strap, towel and blanket. Save the hassle of dragging your own props on the trip. The props are sanitized between retreats.

Our Shala can host up to 18 retreat participants. However, we feel that 12 – 14 is a more comfortable layout for the shala. There are 9 ceiling fans to keep the breeze flowing if needed. While the Guiones is known for sunshine much of the year, many guests have said in reviews that some of the best sessions were during rain showers. If you want, have one of your sessions on the beach and take the props with you.

The place is amazing. Was perfect for our group of 11. Spent most of the time in the pool or in the outdoor kitchen. Need a golf cart to get the most out of the town. Highly recommended and will definitely return.

The property exceeded our expectations.
The property exceeded our expectations. The pool and grounds were beautiful, and the casitas and main house were perfect for our group of 13 (8 adults and 5 kids). The beach and several restaurants were only a short walk away. We used golf carts to get to many other restaurants and shops. Our concierge, Pablo, was amazing. He helped us plan excursions, make restaurant reservations, and responded promptly to any small issues around the house. We saw monkeys and lizards daily, which was a huge hit with the kids. The cook came twice, and both dinners were phenomenal. Highly recommend!!

Excellent Property
This property worked great for our family group of 15! The location was excellent and the property manager, Pablo, was immediately responsive to any issues that came up and they were resolved quickly. He was also very helpful in the planning stages of our trip, providing and setting up transportation and information about various activities in the area. We would definitely return if in the area again.

Beautiful House, Great Location
The house is truly beautiful. The four casitas are great for privacy. The two kitchens are also great and the living space is very comfortable. Maintenance is excellent. The Costa Rican chef made us two delicious meals. Overall, I'd rate it 5 out of 5.

Beautiful, Spacious Villa Close to the Beach
The villa is huge with plenty of room for a large group. The outdoor kitchen area has plenty of seating and the pool is amazing. It is just a short walk to the beach and you can walk into town easily or take a short golf cart ride. It was our 3rd trip to Nosara and this house is by far the best Villa in town. Kathy the concierge is super helpful and took care of all of the planning for us. We had a wonderful vacation and we cannot wait to go back!

Casa Del Alces was the very best place for our Yoga retreat! 16 of us gathered to practice, swim, eat the most delicious, healthy food, experience monkeys, turtles surf and sun!!! The property is stunning. The pool is huge and we used the swim up bar a lot. All the casitas have en suite bathrooms and the A/C worked great. Very quick walk to 2 beaches, one best for swimming and one for surfing. Pablo was an excellent communicator.​

We built a custom Massage and Meditation platform on the property with this in mind. Imagine all of the aches and pains of the day of surfing or horseback riding being eliminated as you are pampered just a few steps from your casita. It doesn't get much better than that at any 5 star resort.

We guarantee that you will ask her to set it up again on short notice before the end of your stay.

From a beach side cafe to Fine Italian cuisine to Street Tacos, you will love the food everywhere in town.
Flip flops, board shorts and bikinis are welcome anywhere, but Nosara has all varieties of restaurants for you to choose from for those nights that you haven't hired a private chef at home. Not enough time to suggest all of the great restaurants in town, so here are a few of our favorites.
Coyol: A must see. At the top of the hill with a 270 degree view. 5 star menu ranging from fine cuts to Seafood to tappas. Nothing like enjoying a drink on the mountainside. Be careful on the tree swing OVER THE VALLEY. This is worth the ride. Have our team arrange for transportation for your entire group. Everything on the menu is amazing.
La Luna: Great sunset views from this beachside setting. Great pizza and pasta. Have Rebeca arrange for a sunset horseback ride ending with dinner at La Luna.
Beach Dog Cafe: Cool, informal setting just 3 minutes from the house. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu for all three meals. Easy to send the kids for lunch to let them get away from mom and dad for a break. Don't be surprised if their is someone singing with an accoustic a few nights a week. Mike and crew do it right.
Destiny: Amazing local, healthy breakfast and brunch menu. Outdoor casual setting. All fresh local ingredients. Destiny is a town favorite and you will see why.
Sendero: Awesome boutique hotel and restaurant. Great for lunch or dinner. Coool, quiet ambiance with great service. Between K and G sections. A must stop.
El Mangral: Located directly across the street from the house. You will enjoy a morning coffee, full breakfast, lunch or dinner and occasional live music at night.
El Local: Best Burger in town as well as craft beer. Great location right off the main road into town. Great variety of seafood, local cuizine and some chef suprises.

Il Basilico: Fresh made pizza of all types. Pick some up to take back to the house or enjoy the outdoor dining area on site and some live music.
The Harmony Hotel: With a full service restaurant and a juice bar, you will find something you like here. The Harmony’s restaurant showcases the bounty of the Nosara area.

Olo Alaia Surf and Brew: Robbie has created an amazing retail surf shop, but the coffee and micro brews are a great mid day stop. You will go for the coffee, enjoy a beer and most likely walk out with a bag of swag. This place is amazing.
